IP Blocking
What is IP blocking and what does it mean for website visitors? In which cases is it useful?
From time to time you may have to block specific third parties from accessing your websites. There are plenty of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and generate fake visits and website traffic. There's also spammers that leave links to suspicious Internet sites as comments to blog articles. This type of things may drastically undermine your work, since no one likes to visit a website with tons of fake comments, plus the increased website traffic from both spammers and bots may create high load on the server where your website is hosted, which can result in the site not functioning properly. One of the best solutions in such cases is to block the IPs that produce the fake traffic, as a way to ensure that the visits to your Internet site are authentic.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting
Our IP Blocking tool is part of the advanced Hepsia hosting Control Panel, offered with all
cloud hosting accounts. It'll enable you to block addresses with only a couple of clicks. No coding abilities are necessary, because you shall use an intuitive interface - you simply need to choose a domain or a subdomain from a drop-down menu and type the IP address that you would like to be blocked. You shall be able to see all the IP addresses that you have added inside the exact same section and whitelisting any of them shall take only a click. If you notice your site is being flooded by different IPs, you will be able to block a whole IP range too. This can be performed by omitting the last number of the address. For instance, if you would like to block all 254 addresses from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255, you just have to input 1.1.1. and leave the last spot blank .

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our
semi-dedicated server accounts include a very simple-to-use IP blocking tool, that will allow you to restrict individual IPs or even whole networks from accessing your Internet sites with onlya few clicks and you shall not have any troubles to do that even if this is your first hosting account. Once you visit the IP Blocking section of the Hepsia CP, you'll just need to select the domain or subdomain you need from a drop-down list, then type the IP address inside a box that you'll see there and you will be good to go. To prohibit the access for an entire network, you will need to leave one or more octets blank. For instance, if you type 123.123. and don't enter anything inside the third and fourth positions, our server will deny requests from all IP addresses between 123.123.1.1 and 123.123.255.255.
