It's not unusual for many users to use weak passwords since they are less difficult to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins which are not updated for a long period of time. In either of these instances, it won't be very difficult for a hacker to take control of the website and following that to take control of other sites which may be hosted in the same account. To avoid such a scenario, we have added an innovative security option called JailHost. It restricts the access which a script has solely to its own folder, so in case one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to view any other content within your account, so the damage will be small. Of course, using JailHost does not substitute the safety measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, yet it will allow you to restrict the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Cloud Hosting
In case you host your websites within a cloud hosting account from our firm, you'll be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is available with all packages and can be activated for every folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for many different websites don't get mixed up as it often happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you may use scripts that need access to folders outside the main website folder and this option may interfere with their correct operation, but shielding all the other folders is simple and easy. In case a protected Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we'll be able to recover it quickly as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to browse the available backups in Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated hosting solutions and you could activate it with a few clicks. It is not activated by default because we do not want to prevent some scripts that need to access multiple folders in the account from working properly. You will be able to enable JailHost for all other sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done very easily even when you have no previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have separate folders that could be "locked". In contrast, other popular Control Panels feature add-on domains and their content is stored in the primary domain folder, so when a single Internet site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. If an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we shall be able to restore it the way it was right away as we will keep several daily backups of the whole account.
